Fines for Maldonado and Kobayashi following British Grand Prix 2012. 09/07/12
Stewards decided to impose fines on two drivers after incidents at the F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday.
The stewards which included 1992 world champion Nigel Mansell in the driver representitive role, had to make judgements on two drivers at the end of the race.
The first incident involved a collision between Pastor Maldonado and Sergio Perez. The incident was deemed to be the fault of Maldonado who was given a reprimand and a double penalty resulting in a 10,000 Euro fine.
The second incident involved Japanese driver Kobayashi knocking over three mechanics after overshooting a pit stop. The driver was fined 25,000 Euros because even though no serious injuries resulted from his actions, his manoeuvre was considered to have 'potentially serious implications'.
Despite Kamui Kobayashi's incident he finished in 11th position, with Pastor Maldonado finishing 16th.
