Roadside Lorry checks include emissions from August 2017. 26/06/17
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency will include vehicle emissions in its roadside lorry checks from August 2017.
The checks have been brought in, in order to clamp down on an increasing number of lorry drivers and operators who they believe are using devices to cheat the system so their vehicles run at a lower cost.
Lorries have compulsory methods of improving air quality, and if they are found to be compromised they can be subject to a fine and a ban if they have not rectified the situation within 10 days of being caught.
