Car Insurance or Accident Management what’s the difference?

Your car insurance policy is an agreement between you and your insurer that provided adhere to their terms and conditions and you pay them an agreed sum of money (your car insurance premium) every year.

For this fee you will be given a policy in which they will (broadly speaking) cover the cost of repairs of the other drivers vehicle (Third party insurance) or the other drivers and your vehicles repairs (Fully comprehensive insurance).

The ‘basic’ cost of a car insurance policy will be calculated by taking into account many factors, such as your age, any driving convictions, where you live and how many claims you have made previously.

On top of this cost may be added ‘options’ such as legal cover or a guaranteed replacement hire car and ‘excess’ which reduces your overall insurance cost annually, but means you will have to pay the first ‘X’ number of pounds yourself towards the cost of any accident repairs.

What is Accident Management?

As an accident management company, our aim is to independently assist motorists following road accidents that were not their fault.

This means you will get all the assistance you would expect from a fully featured car insurance policy, except you do not have to make a claim on your car insurance.

The reason why we only deal with ‘non-fault’ accidents is because we need to recover the costs of the assistance we provide for you, and we do this from the insurer of the person at-fault.

Does using Accident Management for ‘non-fault’ claims have an advantage over my insurer?

Making a non-fault claim on your own insurance will mean you will probably have to pay the excess on your policy first – it can then be recovered from the at-fault drivers insurer weeks, or even months later.

Also making a non-fault insurance claim will almost certainly mean the cost of your insurance will increase because you will now be considered to be at more risk of having another accident.

As an independent non-fault claims provider, using our service eliminates both of these issues – because you will not need to claim on your car insurance policy.

So, this how our non-fault claims service helps you: -

  • Your accident repairs. Whatever type of vehicle you drive we will arrange for it to be repaired at an approved accident repair centre that is convenient for you. We can even arrange for the repairs to be carried out at a garage of your choice

  • Your replacement vehicle. We will organise a comparable replacement hire vehicle for you. So you will be able to use a vehicle that is identical or very similar to your own, while yours is being repaired

  • Your legal assistance. If you need help to recover expenses or make a compensation claim, the solicitors we work with are here to help

  • Your customer service. Our claims team will deal with everything for you from start to finish. Your claims handler will keep you informed throughout your claim, leaving you free to get on with your normal activities with the minimum of fuss

No need to claim on your insurance

Anyone who has been involved in a road accident has the right to choose who repairs their vehicle. If you were responsible for the accident you were involved in, the company that insures your vehicle would normally deal with your accident claim.

However if you were not at-fault for the accident, you can choose to either claim on your own insurance policy or make a claim independently of your insurer. To find out more call 02392 484 244 and we will be happy to help.

We and our partners help thousands of people make independent accident claims. Our service enables motorists to get the help and assistance they need to resolve their accident related issues, with the costs being recovered directly from the at-fault driver on your behalf.

No excess to pay

Unfortunately even if an accident was not your fault, your insurer will almost certainly require you to pay your excess before any repair is started on your car.

This money should of course be recovered by an insurer at a later date, but with our service - you do not have to pay it at all.

By using our independent claims service, you are not making a claim on your insurance policy and so you will have no excess to pay.

Receive a comparable replacement hire vehicle

Not all insurance policies will include a replacement hire-car for you to use if yours is damaged and unroadworthy. In fact it is typically an 'optional extra' on your policy.

Other policies may offer a 'courtesy car' but this is often just a 'basic' saloon or hatchback which may not be suitable for your needs.

Car Call and its partners will provide a comparable replacement vehicle as part of our service. This means we will endeavour to supply a hire-vehicle that similar to your own in terms of its type, make and engine size.

So whether you drive a small hatchback or a prestige sports car, we will look to provide a similar hire-vehicle that suits your needs.

Manufacturer approved vehicle repairs

If you have been involved in a car accident, the last thing you want to have to worry about is the quality of the repairs to your car. We have a UK wide network of partner approved Accident Repair Centres available to all of our customers.

Many of our accident repair centres are have manufacturer approvals for specific brands, so if you require a manufacturer approved repair centre, simply tell your personal claim handler and they will ensure your vehicle goes to an approved repairer.
