Can I choose where my car is repaired after an accident


If you have been involved in a car accident, the last thing you want to have to worry about is the quality of the repairs to your car.

Many motorists like to get their vehicles repaired and serviced at particular repair centres or garages for obvious reasons. They have used them many times before and so they can be sure that they will get good quality service.

If you make a claim on your car insurance policy, your insurer is likely not to allow you to get your vehicle repaired at all, unless it is with one of their ‘own’ approved repair centres. This is not necessarily because they provide a good service, it is more likely because they have agreed repair rates that are advantageous to themselves.
