Vauxhall Corsa steering problem causes recall. 29/09/14
Vauxhall has issued a warning to owners of around 3000 Corsa/ Corsavan and Adam models following the discovery of a part in the steering system that "did not meet specification" during a routine quality control inspection.
Owners have been advised "as a precaution, these vehicles should not be driven prior to inspection".
Customers can check on their website to see if they have an affected vehicle or alternatively contact the Vauxhall customer assistance centre for further advice. It would also be contacting owners directly about the issue.
The company said "Vauxhall puts the safety and convenience of its customers first and as this condition concerns their safety, the company is taking immediate action."
The issue was discovered at its manufacturing plants in Germany and Spain. They also pointed out that they are unaware of any accident or injury that has occurred as a result of the problem.
