Asda takes the lead and cuts 2p off the price of petrol. 16/04/13

Asda has taken lead once again and cut the price of it's petrol by 2p, bringing the majority of it's forecourt prices down to 133.7p.

Asda's Andy Peake said "From Tuesday everybody filling up at an Asda petrol station will pay no more than 133.7p for unleaded and 137.7p for diesel".

"Unlike some of our competitors whose postcode lottery pricing means prices can vary across their forecourts".

The supermarket chain has a reputation for being the first to drop forecourt prices in response to reductions in the wholesale price of fuel.

Both Tesco and Sainburys have now also announced plans to reduce their prices by at least 2p litre.

This can only be good news for UK motorists.
