Motor Accident?

When to use your car headights and sidelights. 03/03/16

Your headlights and sidelights on your vehicle are intended to be used to allow you to see and allow others to see you. However they must only be used under specific circumstances.

  • Headlights should only be used at night but not when a road has lit street lighting.

  • Dipped headlights may be used in the daytime in poor weather conditions when you cannot see for more than 100 metres.

  • Your sidelights and number plate lights should always be illuminated between sunset and sunrise.
