If you think you have suffered a whiplash injury as a passenger in a Taxi accident, we may be able to help you claim compensation for your injury.
How do I know if I have got whiplash?
The symptoms of a whiplash can take time to develop after an accident. Inflammation and bruising in the neck muscles and even the pain itself won't always be apparent immediately after the accident.
It can take from 6 to 12 hours for the key symptoms of whiplash to become obvious. The pain and stiffness associated with a whiplash injury is often worse on the day after the injury and pain may continue to get worse during the days after the accident.
The most common symptoms of whiplash include neck pain, neck swelling, tenderness along the back of the neck, a reduction in movement in the back of the neck and headaches.
Other symptoms can include lower back pain, numbness or pins and needles in arms and hands, muscle spasms, dizziness, tiredness or blurred vision.
How much compensation do I get for whiplash?
The amount of compensation you receive depends on the severity of your injury and how it likely to affect your normal daily life.
Typically for a minor whiplash injury this could be as much as £500, or for moderate to severe whiplash it could be in excess of £25,000.
Whiplash is now known to be a common injury sustained by the driver or passengers involved in front or rear end traffic accidents. If you believe you have any of the symptoms associated with this injury you should visit your doctor, for a formal diagnosis.
A written assessment from your doctor will be needed by your appointed solicitor to pursue your compensation claim, however we can arrange this for you if you have not already seen a doctor.
The solicitors we work with will base the value of your compensation settlement on the following: -
The severity of your whiplash injury
How much pain and discomfort you have suffered or are still suffering
How the injury is affecting your daily activities
If you need any specialist treatment or therapy to help you recover
If the whiplash injury has complications leading to a permanent disability
The cost of neck braces or other medical aids to enable daily living
The recovery of any lost earnings if you are unable to work
